This is stated in Slobozhenko’s post on Instagram.
«You can say that I didn’t understand, I didn’t know. But ignorance does not exempt me from responsibility. Therefore, I have no immunity, regardless of how I helped, because any entrepreneur must pay taxes, we must all work for the defense of our country… I stumbled, got carried away, lost control and the ground under my feet, for which, in fact, I paid the price,» he noted.
Slobozhenko added that he should have come out with the communication earlier, but he was worried and didn’t know what to say. Therefore, he refrained from public comments, to speak only when a clear answer appeared.
«I am repaying all my tax debts to the country, and also, within the framework of this, I would like to announce a large charitable project that I am preparing for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.» According to him, UAH 20 million has already been transferred to the needs of the Defense Forces last week. Slobozhenko promised to talk about this in more detail later.
In the video, Slobozhenko also apologized for his harsh response to Ukrainska Pravda and investigative journalist Mykhailo Tkach, who at one time exposed him for tax evasion and fleeing abroad allegedly due to unfitness for military service.
On August 16, 2024, detectives from the Bureau of Economic Security reported suspicions of blogger Slobozhenko in evading taxes in the amount of more than UAH 200 million. The blogger is wanted.
