SpaceX purchased these assets for $661 million, meaning the average cost of one coin at the time of purchase was approximately $35,000. Given that the Bitcoin rate exceeded $77,000 at the time of filing, the company's unrealized gain on these investments amounts to approximately $789 million. Bitcoin last traded at $35,000 in November 2023.
