Space.com notes that this event demonstrates the consistently high pace of the company’s space operations.
The Falcon 9 launch vehicle, carrying satellites, lifted off from Vandenberg Air Force Station in California on Saturday, September 13, at 8:55 p.m. Kyiv time. This is the 115th Falcon 9 launch in 2025.
According to SpaceX’s established procedure, about 8.5 minutes after liftoff, the first stage of the launch vehicle successfully landed on the company’s unmanned vessel in the Pacific Ocean. This reusable stage technology significantly reduces the cost of space launches, which is one of the main advantages of Elon Musk’s company.
Meanwhile, the Falcon 9 second stage continued its mission and delivered the satellites to low Earth orbit. All 24 satellites were deployed 62.5 minutes after launch, when they reached their designated orbital position.
Thus, the total number of active Starlink Internet satellites in Earth orbit has exceeded 8,300 units.
