Manas AI will use its own AI-based platform to help accelerate the drug development process, from identifying potential drug candidates with “paradigmatic speed and accuracy” to clinical trials. The company will initially focus on treating breast cancer, prostate cancer and lymphoma, and later on various rare diseases, Quarts writes .
“Artificial intelligence will have a lasting and positive impact on humanity, and for many years I have been focused on helping realize the potential of this technology,” said Hoffman. “Manas AI breaks down barriers that have slowed medical innovation for decades, leading to an exponentially positive impact on our ability to treat human disease.”
Manas AI has already raised nearly $25 million in investment from General Catalyst, Greylock and other life sciences and technology investors. Hoffman has also invested his own money in the company.
The startup has also established a partnership with Microsoft to use the tech giant's cloud computing platform.
