Co-founder of Tech Unity: "None of the NRCs in Ukraine today will pass codification according to NATO standards"

Co-founder and R&D director at the Ukrainian deftech company Tech Unity, Viktor Braychenko, is convinced that none of the Ukrainian-made NRCs today will pass codification according to NATO standards.
«We are currently in the process of obtaining NATO codification for Jarvis. And it is very sobering. When you read the requirements for electromagnetic compatibility, test procedures, documentation, it becomes clear why „they“ take longer and more expensive. And why a product that conditionally „works in our country“ may not pass certification in the EU or the USA. I am not saying that foreign requirements are ideal or that we need to copy everything „like in NATO“. But I see that none of the NRCs in Ukraine today will pass codification according to NATO standards,» he concluded.
According to him, the main problems in the field of NRC usually lie at the basic level — chassis, tightness, and build quality.
«There are many NRCs on the market, but many of them have flaws at the basic level. Something constantly breaks, gets stuck, falls apart, or behaves unpredictably. I’m not talking about situations where the case is not airtight. It rained — water got into the electronics, and that’s it, the car stopped. It’s still a mystery to me how in 2026 you can sell a „military“ product that won’t survive bad weather,» Viktor Braychenko criticizes the current situation.
He also noted that the motivation of some manufacturers to «make it cheap» ends in problems.
«I have a simple internal test. For example, if it’s an evacuation platform, you need to ask yourself, are you ready to place a wounded person there and be sure that the car won’t stop in the middle of the road? Unfortunately, for many products, the answer is no. The maximum is to „bring water,“ but not a person,» says Braychenko.
As dev.ua wrote, Ukrainian DevDroid created an AI system for NRC that helps capture targets and reacts to movement.
«One solution for everyone who can’t afford to stop.» Ukrainian Qirim Tech has created airless wheels that can be installed on NRKs and various equipment
