Wild Hornets, a company that manufactures drones for the Defense Forces, has released a video of testing a faster version of the Sting interceptor drone that sounds and drives like a Formula 1 car.
«This is how new STING Shaheed fighters are born. Even faster and more powerful,» the developers commented on the drone test video.
TheSting drone was first shown last fall. It was the first drone specifically designed to defeat Iranian Shahed drones launched by the Russians. At the same time, the Sting costs much less than the Russian-Iranian drones and can fly at speeds of more than 160 km per hour and climb to an altitude of about 3 km.
In late July, military expert Sergei «Flash» revealed that the Russians were using Shahed jet drones in response to the Defense Forces’ use of interceptor drones. According to Military, the maximum speed of the Shahed-238 jet is 600 km/h, which is almost three times higher than the 190 km/h of the regular version, but also significantly increases the cost of the drone.
According to Gennady Suldin, CEO of Technary, jet interceptor drones are supposed to counter jet «shaheeds».
