A new open-source product called Super-Agent was developed by the DeepSeek Harness team. As the team noted in a post on the WeChat social network, the agent is able to proactively monitor developers’ work chats, detect error messages in the code, and offer solutions directly without prior calls or special commands from users, Bloomberg writes .
The main goal of the new tool is to “require as little human attention as possible and bring as much benefit as possible,” according to the user manual published on GitHub.
The Harness team was created at DeepSeek earlier this year to develop specialized intelligence solutions capable of competing with coding services from leading American AI labs.
The term “harness” refers to the infrastructure that wraps a large language model. This allows AI agents to perform more complex tasks, control tools, and interact with the external environment. Such solutions are used by Anthropic and other developers to streamline coding processes and automate routines.
The release comes amid an intensifying battle between Chinese and American tech giants to create advanced yet affordable AI tools. While traditional chatbots like ChatGPT initially dominated the market, the focus is now shifting to the lucrative segment of autonomous agents that can fully automate tasks for developers and business professionals.
