The specialized association "Ukravtoprom" reports a significant decrease in the rate of registration of electric cars.
According to published data, the vast majority of electric vehicles sold during the month were passenger cars — 4,074 units. Of these, only 503 cars were new, which shows a sharp drop of 73% compared to August 2025. The remaining 3,571 units were used electric cars (a drop of 39%).
In the commercial vehicle segment, the situation is even more revealing: out of 160 registered electric vans and trucks, only two units were new. For comparison, last August the fleet was replenished with 175 commercial electric vehicles, of which 24 were new.
As for Ukrainians' preferences among new electric cars, the leader of the month was the BYD Sea Lion 06 EV crossover with 102 registered cars. The top five most popular models also included models from the Chinese brand Zeekr — 001 (46 units) and 7X (44 units), the British-Chinese MG4 EV (36 units) and the Japanese Toyota BZ4X (33 units).
The market of imported used electric cars is traditionally dominated by Tesla products. The first and second places were taken by the Model Y (494 cars) and Model 3 (480 cars), respectively. The third place is held by the long-standing bestseller Nissan Leaf (454 units). The top five are rounded out by the Chevrolet Bolt (199 cars) and Hyundai Ioniq 5 (160 cars).
