Ukrainian deftech company The Fourth Law has opened a vacancy for a Country Office Director in Eindhoven (Netherlands). The manager will lead the local legal entity and build the operational infrastructure for the new semiconductor project Project Foundation.
The launch of the initiative was previously announced by Yaroslav Azhnyuk, co-founder of The Fourth Law and Odd Systems. The main goal of Project Foundation is the mass production of uncooled thermal imaging sensors (LWIR) to ensure the technological sovereignty of Europe and the United States in the defense sector, automotive industry and robotics. The first sensors are planned to be released in 2027, and within three years the initiative should increase the production of LWIR sensors in Europe fourfold and in the United States twice.
"Over the next 10 years, autonomous robots will transform dozens of industries, the volume of which reaches several trillion dollars. We bring together leading engineers, scientists and managers to localize production and research, contributing to the strategic autonomy of the European continent," the project creators note.
Project Foundation is headquartered in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, one of Europe’s key technology and semiconductor hubs. The production network includes two sites: First Foundation in Europe and Second Foundation in the US. They will operate on a shared technology platform through a combination of their own factories and partner lines.
The future Country Office Director from The Fourth Law will be fully responsible for launching the location from scratch: finding and equipping an office and R&D lab with clean rooms, managing procurement, logistics and compliance with building and safety regulations. The manager will also act as the director of the local legal entity, coordinate work with contractors and interact with the Dutch ecosystem — including Brainport, PhotonDelta, NFIA / RVO and Invest-NL — to attract EU grants.
Candidates are required to reside in Eindhoven or be willing to relocate, be fluent in English and working Dutch. Experience in setting up laboratories in the field of semiconductors, MEMS or photonics, as well as in purchasing and commissioning cleanrooms and vacuum equipment, would be an advantage. The position is offered to start on a part-time basis with the possibility of moving to full-time employment.
