Mikhail Fedorov announced the new missiles at a meeting with journalists, DOU reports .
"Our task is to scale up production dozens of times and have a stock of such missiles for the autumn-winter period. We want to scale up and reduce the cost of interceptor missiles in order to prepare for the appearance of Shahed jets. This will help to additionally protect critical infrastructure, in addition to interceptor drones," Fedorov noted.
He added that to implement this task, the state is issuing grants, scaling up production, and restarting team recruitment.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense continues to develop a "small" air defense system. Over the past four months, the supply of interceptor drones has increased 2.6 times.
Fedorov stressed that the percentage of enemy drones shot down by interceptor drones has doubled in the past four months. At the same time, he noted that the number of shaheeds that Russia launches each month is growing by 35%. He called the use of interceptor drones “a cheaper, faster and more scalable response to Russia’s massive attacks.”
Recall that previously it was reported about new Ukrainian interceptor drones that are capable of effectively destroying Russian reconnaissance and strike drones.
