An organized criminal group has been exposed in Ukraine that established a cocaine supply channel from Latin America to Kyiv and sold drugs through a Telegram store. According to the ruling of the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv, one of the defendants in the case, previously convicted of drug crimes, organized the supply of cocaine from Panama and Honduras in transit through the United States, and later created a full-fledged infrastructure for its sale.
The scheme was exposed in 2023. The cocaine arrived in cardboard boxes of international shipments, carefully hidden in the walls of the packaging. Having received a stable supply channel, the organizer, according to the investigation, launched a Telegram store where customers could choose the product, delivery method and pay in cryptocurrency — Bitcoin or USDT.
After payment, buyers were sent geolocation and a photo of the bookmark or Nova Poshta TTN — the drugs were hidden in household items and disguised as regular shipments. Sales took place both through «bookmarks» in entrances and through mail-order from the regions.
As stated in the ruling, the cocaine packer used computer mice, which contained transparent plastic bags with a total weight of 7.7g of the drug. He sent the mice with cocaine to the emergency room.
The OZG consisted of at least five people, one of whom was a resident of Panama and the other of Honduras. The organizer defined roles: store administration, packaging, bookmarking, logistics, as well as profit distribution and even «fines» for failure to complete tasks.
All participants followed the rules of secrecy and communicated exclusively via Telegram and Threema. The organizer’s role included creating a plan, managing all processes, marketing, and controlling cash flows.
