According to him, candidates who want to work in the miltech field need to convey their thoughts concisely and clearly.
«For those looking for a job at Miltech, I advise you to be responsible about the first call from the recruiter. We work quickly, and if you talk nonsense, we won’t have time to figure out what you meant. We’ll just say goodbye and move on to the next candidate,» says Lavrenovich, quoted by DOU.
Also, according to him, you shouldn’t set your own strict conditions on the first call. «When a person says that they only work from 9 to 18 or that they definitely need remote work three days a week, these are stop words for us. If you are interested in working at Miltech, but have any wishes, it is better to discuss them with the manager at the final interview,» the specialist notes.
Lavrenovich adds that in miltech it is usually impossible to balance work and personal life, you will probably have to work intensively not only on weekdays.
«We once had a month of heavy workload when employees worked almost without days off. It was a big contract, a big responsibility and fines if you don’t fulfill it. But it was not only about the economic part, but also about the motivational part. Our military had empty warehouses, they urgently needed drones. Therefore, in the last three days before the contract was closed, the entire back office, together with directors and IT people, went out to pack drones and load cars. After this stressful period, only two people left the company, and we have a lot of employees. So most of them didn’t give up, because they understood why it was needed. Then the employees received bonuses and days off. I was very grateful to the team,» he gives an example.
According to Lavrenovych, people come to miltech with a different motivation than to an IT company. «I tell candidates that they are our rear, and if we don’t do our job on time, the military won’t get drones,» says HR from General Chereshny.
Regarding the hiring process, the specialist said that until the person is hired, the location and information about the employees are not disclosed to the candidate. However, the name of the company is not kept secret.
Among the features of hiring in the military sector is the verification of candidates' documents by specialized intelligence services, in addition to screening by internal security specialists.
A mandatory stage of hiring is also a polygraph test. HRD of the company «General Chereshnya» said that their test is carried out quickly, because the company cooperates with several polygraph examiners. And they receive the results in the evening or the morning of the next day. Representatives of other companies noted that in some cases candidates have to wait 3-4 days, because there is a queue for the polygraph.
After the internal security service and HR agree on the results of the polygraph, a final interview with the candidate’s immediate supervisor takes place. Some companies also involve one of the directors in it. And after signing all the documents, including the NDA, the employee joins the team.
