The UNITED24 platform, together with the GSC Game World studio, is launching an exclusive STALKER 2 charity raffle, participants of which will have a chance to receive limited-edition collectibles related to the game.
According to the press service of ARS Capital, the goal of the collection is $100,000 for the «Humanitarian Demining» direction of the UNITED24 platform.
«The funds raised will be used to clear the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone of mines and other explosives that remained in the territory after the Russian occupation. Their presence creates additional risks for people working in the zone, complicates scientific and environmental work, and can also hinder the rapid response to emergencies, in particular forest fires,» ARS Capital explained.
According to Volodymyr Bayda, director of the Humanitarian Demining Center, the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone currently remains one of the most dangerous areas on the planet, as the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident have been joined by a new threat in the form of contamination with mines and other explosive objects as a result of a full-scale war.
«That is why every initiative that supports humanitarian demining is of utmost importance. The UNITED24 and GSC Game World campaign will help attract the resources needed to safely clear Ukrainian territories,» he explained.
As part of the campaign, donors will have a chance to receive exclusive STALKER 2 collectibles, including, for example, five commemorative key chains made from the skin of a Russian Mi-8 helicopter that the Ukrainian military shot down over Chernobyl during the occupation of the exclusion zone, and other merchandise.
«Chernobyl is the heart of our gaming universe. For us, it’s not just a setting or a plot location — it’s part of the Ukrainian cultural code, an integral part of our identity… We want the danger to remain only in the game, and the real Ukrainian land to become safe as soon as possible,» GSC Game World emphasizes.
The day before, dev.ua shared its first impressions of STALKER 2: Cost of Hope, because almost two years after its release, «STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl» finally received its first major plot addition, along with a large-scale update to version 2.0.
