According to the SBU, after the start of the full-scale war, the banker opened an account on one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, through which he transferred funds to the digital wallets of the Russians. He received information about the collection of money for the needs of the occupiers in Telegram channels.
Law enforcement officers are currently determining the exact amounts of his "donations."
The man was detained at his place of residence in Kyiv. During a search of the detainee's home, a Russian passport, Russian rubles, mobile phones, and a computer with evidence of crimes were found.
The perpetrator is being held without bail. He faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Sense Bank, which was nationalized in 2023, has released an official statement.
"Sense Bank is fully contributing to the investigation, which is already being carried out by the relevant state authorities. The aforementioned incident in no way affects the stability of the bank, the security of client funds and data, as well as the conduct of transactions. All bank systems are operating normally, and our specialists ensure full continuity of customer service. Sense Bank continues to fulfill its obligations to customers and contribute to the stability of the financial system of Ukraine," the message says .
