Playtika has made large-scale cuts to two projects, as well as targeted cuts to some others.
This was reported by the TG channel «Overheard in IT», citing its sources.
«We were brought in for two projects. At Best Fiends, out of about 170 people, only 30 remained. Redecor also cut about 90%. Several other studios also made cuts, but not as massively,» the post states.
In particular, the layoffs also affect employees of the Ukrainian office involved in the above-mentioned projects.
«The reason is the optimization and unsuccessful integration of the new game engine. Conditions for those laid off: they are kept on the payroll until the end of July, payment according to the law + personal bonus. They are not leaving the equipment,» the authors of the news channel reported.
dev.ua sent a request to the Playtika press service to verify this information, asking about the reasons for the layoffs and the number of employees affected.
Interestingly, according to market research, as of the end of last year, the leader in terms of income per employee was the game developer Playtika — $6,900 per month. Most other companies showed results in the range of $3,000-5,000.
Last year, Israeli digital entertainment IT company Playtika, which has offices in Ukraine, officially liquidated its business in Belarus.
