In January 2025, the volume of IT exports decreased by 20.7% and amounted to $489 million.
The news was updated at the request of the Lviv IT Cluster due to an error in calculations, namely: the January volume of IT exports amounted to $489 million, not $499 million, as previously stated.
For comparison, in January 2024 this figure was $508 million, a decrease of $19 million or -3.7%. In January 2023, the volume of IT exports amounted to $528 million.
"This January has been the worst since the start of the full-scale invasion. And, according to our forecasts, the situation will not get better this year. After all, the challenges of the full-scale invasion continue to negatively affect the tech industry. If the war continues, then this year all the risks associated with it will only deepen. At the same time, the IT sector continues to remain one of the largest exporters of services in Ukraine and provides significant foreign exchange inflows to the economy," notes Stepan Veselovsky, CEO of the Lviv IT Cluster.
Total export revenue of all services in Ukraine in January this year amounted to $1.21 billion, which is $423 million more or 25.8% less compared to December 2024.
The share of computer services in the structure of all services exports in January 2025 was 40.3%. This is 3.5% more than in January last year. Then it was 36.8%. At the same time, this is 2.6% more compared to December 2024.
Recall that in 2024, the volume of IT exports fell by 4% and amounted to $6.45 billion.
