"In Ukraine, it is necessary to test the AV system, understand the size of investments and capital investments in the road infrastructure of Ukrainian cities and legislative regulation. For example, for correct operation, there must be a sufficiently good quality of roads and uniform road markings everywhere," Grishkov told Delo.ua.
CEO Uklon predicts that autonomous cars will have niche potential in Ukraine. According to him, their use in the coming years is possible in limited conditions, for example, in military logistics or on closed routes with high-quality markings.
Grishkov emphasizes that for the full implementation of such cars, it is necessary to adopt appropriate legislation that will regulate the legal norms of their use, following the example of the USA and the EU. This legislation should take into account international standards, in particular the SAE scale, which determines the level of autonomy of a vehicle. He adds that the issue of launching such transport will become much more relevant in 3-5 years.
Recently, Serhiy Grishkov spoke about the company's three-year strategy . Uklon expects its value to grow to $300 million during this period. He announced this at the Uklon Media Day event, which dev.ua attended.
Uklon may also launch a bus service from Ukraine to Europe next year. The company will choose between this service and scooter rental.
