Developers from Paradox Interactive studio announced this in the developer diary.
The game will feature a special "Ukrainian Cultural Revival" mechanic with a separate International Situations Journal Entry that will reflect the growing desire for independence. Since at the beginning of the game campaign in 1836, the Ukrainian lands were divided between Austria, Hungary, and Russia, the revival process will develop differently depending on the region.
In Austria, the Ukrainian movement will operate through the legal educational and economic societies “Prosvita”, while in Russia the communities will operate underground due to strict language and cultural bans, in particular the Valuev Circular and the Ems Decree. The development of the cultural movement will depend on the “Fervor” indicator, and the state’s reaction to Ukrainian activity will affect stability and potential development in the event of independence.
At the same time, Paradox Interactive has postponed the release of the State and Revolution expansion by two weeks, with the new release date set for November 5. According to the head of the project’s design department, Lino, this decision was made to fix bugs and improve the quality of content after problems with the early release of the previous expansion, The Great Wave.
"While we are disappointed that the announcement of the delay came so close to the originally planned release date, we are confident that this is the right decision," Lino noted.
Victoria 3 is a global historical strategy game from Paradox Development Studio, released in 2022. The game covers the period from 1836 to 1936 and allows you to manage the economy, politics, and diplomacy of any state of that period.
