Rise Technologies Ukraine is developing its own Yautja RSD reconnaissance drone, which will be an alternative to the Chinese DJI and Autel. The new drone has secure communication, a tactical radius of 47 km and can fly for over an hour. It is designed with minimal use of Chinese components and will be an important step towards the independence of Ukrainian technologies.

«The main reconnaissance drones in the military today are DJI and Autel brand aircraft. Since their drones are designed for civilian use, they have certain limitations: the inability to withstand electronic warfare, the lack of secure communication, and most importantly, it is a Chinese product. We must get rid of dependence on China, be independent both in technology and in production. Therefore, we decided to create a completely Ukrainian product, devoid of Chinese components and assemblies. Currently, we only have a camera from the Chinese modules. We plan to eliminate this drawback in the future,» a representative of Rise Technologies told dev.ua.
The developers of the reconnaissance drone focused on its speed, flight range, and autonomy, which allows it to perform combat missions much more effectively.
«We set a goal to make the drone fast, because the task of a scout is to start a mission as quickly as possible. The drone must reach the mission area as quickly as possible. Accordingly, if the Mavic spends one minute per kilometer, then our drone moves twice as fast. Accordingly, the time to complete the combat mission will decrease. We increased the drone’s air time by 62 minutes, it has a protected connection, if the Mavic has a limit of 20 km, then our drone operates at a distance of 47 km. The battery reserve time is enough to cover these 40 km, conduct reconnaissance and return,» said a company representative.
Characteristics of the copter:
To create a new Ukrainian drone, technologies from partner countries, in particular American manufacturers, were involved.
«There is a coalition of states that supports Ukraine and we receive components from suppliers that are legal entities in these states. This is mainly American production: Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, and so on,» Rise Technologies added.
The Yautaj RSD reconnaissance drone is in the prototyping stage. The cost of the copter will be at the level of the DJI Mavic 3T — approximately 186,000 hryvnias. Rise Technologies Ukraine has been operating on the Ukrainian market for over a year and is fully self-financed.
