Middle full stack developer Oleg Syvak teased his «small startup» about managing a «smart home», which he is developing together with three other developers. dev.ua contacted Oleg and learned the details of the project.

In a comment to dev.ua, he said that the startup is called Softiot, and its goal is
— creation of a Ukrainian IT product — «smart home» technology or similar. According to him, the software, hosting support for a single management platform, and creation of devices — all of this was done exclusively by Ukrainians.
«We now have several ready-made devices and the software they run on. There is a client part, an admin, and a cloud environment for communication between the server and devices. After purchasing a device, the user registers on our website and gets access to his own account. There he can manage and configure his work schedules», — the developer said.
He added that the team is currently testing the software and devices in real-world conditions and is looking for partners and customers. The development of the startup and its product is being handled by «four enthusiasts»:
Oleg Syvak said that they invested «their free time, a lot of nerves, and a lot of satisfaction from the results» in the project. «Since we wrote the code ourselves, soldered the devices, and connected everything, the only investments were our time, money in parts, and microcircuits,» he says.
According to the IT expert, the price of the product is still being formed, but it will be competitive with similar Chinese products. Currently, Softiot’s developments are being used by the developers themselves and their friends. They plan to make a «well-tested product» and move towards scaling and commercialization.
