Ukrainian AI startup Neomi launched on VARUS.UA to automate grocery shopping
Ukrainian startup Neomi, which specializes in developing artificial intelligence for grocery e-commerce, announced the public launch of its service on the retailer’s website VARUS.UA. The solution allows users to create a cart using text or voice prompts instead of manually searching for products.

As the company told dev.ua, the integration with VARUS.UA was the product’s first public launch on the market after a series of closed pilots that lasted throughout 2025.
Neomi’s technology works on the principle of agentic commerce: an AI agent interprets complex user queries, such as «Asian cuisine week for the family» or «lactose-free romantic dinner,» and automatically fills the online cart with the corresponding products. The system is also able to recognize photos of handwritten shopping lists or ingredients from a recipe link.
According to the developers, the path to release took almost a year. During this time, the product concept was completely revised to ensure high data processing speed and the system’s ability to serve up to 10,000 users simultaneously.

«For us, this is the moment when agentic commerce moves from hypothesis to real user behavior. We have made the product much simpler and closer to how people actually make decisions about food. Now the main task is to see the real impact on the speed of basket collection and frequency of purchases,» notes Dmytro Lylyk, CEO and co-founder of Neomi.
VARUS.UA sees this launch as a strategic bet on personalization and saving customers time. Oleg Spirin, CEO of VARUS.UA, emphasized that the future of retail lies in transforming the store into a «smart assistant,» not just a product catalog on a smartphone.
The Neomi team is already planning further scaling. By the end of 2026, the startup aims to attract at least three more large retailers and enter European markets, targeting 70,000 monthly active users. It also plans to launch its own marketplace application this year.
«This is a proprietary mobile application for end users, who will choose which store to connect to through the application. Such an application, compared to the analogue on the retailer’s website, will have an advantage for the user in the form of a broader context,» said Lilik in a comment to dev.ua.
Among such benefits, the CEO and co-founder of Neomi mentioned synchronization with smart watches and scales, sleep training, individual medical advice, etc.
