Ukrainian IT professional Andriy Kovalchuk is working on creating a mobile application called Savket, which will help you compare prices for goods in all offline stores.
«I have long been concerned about one simple thing — how to understand where to buy cheaper nearby? We all see different prices in offline stores every day, but we don’t have a single place where we can quickly compare them. That’s why I decided to create Savket, a mobile application that will help people find the best deals in regular stores nearby,» he shared on his LinkedIn page.
According to the application developer, the main features of the product will be:
map with stores and directions to them;
price comparison between retail outlets;
creating your own shopping lists;
saving favorite products;
notifications about nearby discounts;
quick search for the desired product.
In one of the latest posts on his page, Andriy Kovalchuk reported that the layout of the application design is almost completely ready — only a few elements remain.
In parallel, the backend is being developed and preparations are underway to gradually connect it to the application. «API integration is already on the horizon, and very soon all the parts will start working together,» the developer announced.
A little more about how it will work
dev.ua asked Andriy Kovalchuk a few additional questions to better understand how the product, which the IT expert is currently developing, will work.
The first thing that is surprising is the huge amount of various products that need to be entered into the system. The developer assures that he is aware of the scale of the task.
«These are products from different manufacturers. I understand that the volume of goods will be large. But we want to collect a good database for this project so that people can find everything they need,» the IT expert assured.
The founder of Savket, answering another question, added that it will be more similar not to the functionality of Tabletki.ua (only products — not medicines), but to the functionality of Hotline, only for offline goods. «But they compare online goods, and we will compare offline ones,» the IT expert added.
Andriy Kovalchuk also clarified that after the MVP of the product is completed, they will continue to expand its functionality, add new and new products, and also expand the geography of the application’s operation to other regions of Ukraine, and later to other countries.
