«AI is quite good at recognizing and processing propaganda, and this gives me hope. I regularly encounter the destructive impact of narratives launched by Moscow on Ukraine: from „the EU has abandoned us“ to „the CCC is leading the country to civil war.“ Syto analyzes the publications of the most famous pro-Russian TG channels, which the SBU has declared pro-Russian and terrorist,» said the marketer and IT expert.
In subsequent versions of the AI service, he also promised to expand the list of news channels that will be subject to monitoring, including «characters like Arestovich and Latynina.»
The service, according to Simonov, analyzes publications on social media channels, identifies the most popular narratives, and breaks them down into specific components: a detailed description, what its ultimate goal is, what manipulative techniques are used, what real problem the narrative is parasitizing on, and how to «vaccinate» so that this narrative does not work in the future.
«Muscovite propaganda causes great harm to our society: it reduces the number of donations, trust in institutions, sows conflicts in society and reduces defense capabilities. This is a weapon that, unfortunately, Muscovy knows well, especially the principle of „divide and rule“. Therefore, this is a big problem that we have to fight,» he believes.
Dmitry Simonov noted that he liked how AI analyzes this context, although «there are inaccuracies.» However, as he says, AI «provides a critical picture of the narrative and really helps to refute it.»
In the current version of the service , users can view narratives for the current and previous week.
At the same time, if there is interest in the service, Simonov promises to add analysis of larger time periods and a detailed analysis of narratives.
In his opinion, in its current form, the service may be interesting to journalists, communicators, and intelligence representatives, but the author added that he has ideas «how to make the tool more widespread and accessible.»
«I also see the „attacking“ part of the service as appropriate, which will provide narratives for information operations that will weaken Moscow,» the AI member emphasized.
