Expensa was launched in the App Store in late April. The app keeps track of 150+ currencies, automatically creates transactions with Apple Wallet, and stores all data exclusively on the user’s device.
One of the key features is integration with Apple Wallet via Shortcuts: once set up, every card payment automatically becomes a transaction in the app without any manual intervention. AI helps you create your first budget and allocate the amount by category — taking into account your region and spending habits.
The author’s principled position on privacy: no bank logins, no third-party data aggregators — all transactions are stored exclusively in iCloud on the user’s Apple ID. There is support for shared spaces for the family with real-time synchronization.
The app is free, with a premium subscription: $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year. The free version is limited to one space, two accounts, and three recurring transactions. The App Store rating is 4.5 out of 13 at the time of publication.
