«Each level is a poem by one of the prominent Crimean Tatar authors. One of the algorithms corrupts the text of the poem, and the player’s task is to fix it,» the developer explains in a Facebook post.
In the game, which is already available on the App Store and Google Play, you need to choose a poem, find the words that are spelled incorrectly, and correct them to the correct form. According to the developers, incorrect answers are a great opportunity to learn new words and their correct spelling. Lağoda QT is built in the daily puzzle mode.
Oleksandr also emphasizes that this is a non-commercial project and the game is built completely without advertising. «I admit that it would be a little inconvenient to read Gasprinsky and watch casino advertising at the same time,» he notes.
Lağoda QT is based on the Ukrainian word game «Lagoda», where each level is a poem, the release of which became known in August 2023.
As Oleksandr said in the post, his old friend Andriy Lausch approached him about its release and said that a Crimean Tatar version should be made. «I tried my best to refuse, but Andriy was more persistent than you can imagine,» the developer added.
Later, according to him, Mamur Chebanova and Esmera Asanova also joined the team, who did the translation, poetry selection, and testing. «I just repainted the buttons and did a couple of other little things that are described by the boring word «programming,» — recalls Oleksandr Kozlov. Ismail Gasprinsky, Noman Chelebidzhikhan, Bekir Choban-zadeh, and other famous Crimean Tatar poets participated in the creation of the levels in Lağoda QT.
«Lağoda QT was created for two groups — those who love poetry and those who don’t,» the game’s description states.
In total, the game in Crimean Tatar contains more than 20 authors and about 150 poems. Also, 12 pieces of music have been added as audio accompaniment, and the voice accompaniment can be stopped during the music.
The developers have built in 4 different algorithms that spoil the poems. And after they are «fixed», the final correct version can be colored using the built-in editor and shared on social networks.
