According to the State Customs Service, 1,997 imported electric vehicles were new, and another 7,277 were used.
«This demonstrates stable demand for both cheaper used cars and new electric cars with zero mileage,» Customs concluded.
The total customs value of electric vehicles imported into Ukraine in August amounted to almost UAH 8.1 billion (in August 2024, this figure was at the level of UAH 3.8 billion).
UAH 31.9 million was paid to the state budget from electric cars imported to Ukraine in August.
As is known, preferential customs clearance of electric vehicles in Ukraine is not planned to be extended until 2026. At least, the head of the Finance Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Danylo Hetmantsev, made it clear to importers of electric cars that the privileges will not be extended, and urged them to «have decency in a country that collects every penny for the army.»
As dev.ua previously wrote, in the first three months of 2025, Ukraine imported almost three times more electric vehicles than last year.
