Ukrainians have released an app that helps count calories and eat a balanced diet. Personal AI Nutritionist is already being tested by users.
«Today, Apple released my second app with my husband — a personal AI nutritionist. It’s really cool. We created it based on AI, but each prompt was written and edited by us, my knowledge of nutrition, and based on scientific sources. This is a nutritionist who comments on your food, tells you how it affects your health, mood, energy, digestion, and gives advice on how to improve it. And of course, you can track all your nutrients here,» the project co-author noted in Threads.
The developers note thatdiet affects intelligence, hormonal balance, lifespan, and overall well-being. «Our AI nutritionist analyzes your meals and provides personalized health advice to help you make better food choices,» the project description says.
The following options are available in the application:
Personalized nutritional information — understand how your diet affects various aspects of your health, including brain function, longevity, and hormonal balance;
AI-powered food analysis — get an in-depth assessment of your diet with recommendations tailored to your health goals;
Effortless nutrient tracking — visualize your protein, fat, carbohydrate, vitamin, and mineral intake without stress;
Actionable health tips — identify nutrient deficiencies and get expert advice on improving your diet.
The application is not completely free, the developers say. You have to pay for some options.
«I did 2 tests: 1. I manually entered the breakfast ingredients in text without specifying the weight — I got an overall nutritional score + the program estimated the weight of each ingredient a little „by eye“, but overall it was ok. The second one — I uploaded a photo, and there are more questions. My overall assessment: pluses — clear, intuitive, the program is similar to other products in this direction, but using the advantages of AI; minuses — almost all the „buns“ are sewn into the paid version, which, compared to others, provides less useful functionality than the free one,» noted user Svitlana Chistyakova.
«I downloaded and already loaded breakfast, but it still doesn’t recognize what kind of food it is (it recognized yogurt with berries when it was cottage cheese with sour cream and jam. But it’s cool that you can fix it yourself,» writes Olya Vershybalova. The developers note that the service is still learning.
