The national postal operator Ukrposhta is scaling up a project to install internal ATMs in branches. After successful testing in Kyiv, the technology is being launched in Dnipro, Zaporizhia, Kryvyi Rih, Kamianskyi, and Kropyvnytskyi to reduce queues and speed up the delivery of items.
This was announced by the company’s CEO, Igor Smilyansky, on his social networks.
The pilot project started more than a month ago in the 121st Kyiv branch. According to the company, the solution has proven to be in demand: currently, about 70% of customers receive parcels on their own without involving an operator, and the delivery process itself takes about 10 seconds. You can receive a parcel through an internal post office only if it has already been paid for.
Due to positive feedback, the operator decided to increase the plans for the first stage of scaling the project: instead of the previously announced 400 ATMs, 600 will be installed in branches. The next cities to deploy the network will be Odesa and Vinnytsia, after which the geography of the project will be expanded to the entire country.
«We know that queues are a problem for our customers, so we are conducting a systematic offensive against them. Initially, we introduced the „Express Window“ for parcels, but we must admit that this experiment was not successful everywhere, because some of our customers did not agree that the quick delivery of a parcel should be out of line while someone prepares a booklet with meter readings. We took this into account and started a pilot project,» noted Ihor Smilyansky.
In addition to indoor ATMs, by the end of 2026, the postal operator plans to install more than 1,000 outdoor ATMs and open new parcel delivery points.
