The other day, the second auction for the sale of a decommissioned Ukrposhta car, which started in early December, ended at Prozorro.Prodazh.
During this time, 716 units of obsolete equipment were sold for UAH 9 million — from a 1979 GAZ-52 from Poltava region to a Volvo FH12 truck that had covered almost 2.9 million km. The average mileage of each vehicle was about 470,000 km, and the physical wear and tear of the fleet reached 96%, reports Ihor Smilyanskyi, CEO of Ukrposhta.
"Part of the car was purchased by relevant organizations and will be used for spare parts for the needs of the army and volunteer initiatives, allowing the decommissioned transport to actually continue its service - in a different capacity, where it is now critically needed," added the head of the national postal operator.
In addition, the sale freed up thousands of square meters of space and millions of hryvnias, which will now be saved on storage, accounting, and maintenance of these cars.
But these are not all old cars. There are about 250 more units that can be sold. They are currently waiting for shareholder approval.
Smilyansky also reminded: "Ukrposhta, as an enterprise in which the state is the shareholder, does not have the right to transfer decommissioned property free of charge - it can only be sold through open auctions."
