In a comment to Reuters, the company explained that they are adapting to the new realities. Today's iOS 26.5.2 update fixes over 25 security vulnerabilities for iPhones. As noted in the patch note, a number of kernel fixes have been made, as well as several WebKit vulnerabilities that could have led to system failure or data leakage.
Apple stressed that there is currently no evidence that any attackers have exploited the vulnerabilities, but in the age of AI, the company is forced to minimize the “window” that hackers can use to exploit known security flaws.
