“Now you can have a rich conversation with Copilot using Voice and take advantage of Think Deeper’s advanced reasoning models to solve more complex questions or tasks at any time,” Microsoft says .
Think Deeper is powered by OpenAI’s o1 AI model, which has been trained to “think before it speaks,” and as a result, takes a little longer to process a query—around 30 seconds. This is especially useful for tasks involving coding, analysis, and complex math. It can also be used for deeper consulting and planning.
The o1 model is only available to paid subscribers, including ChatGPT Pro, Team, Edu, and Enterprise users. As a result, being able to access it for free in Copilot is a great option for people who want to try it out without spending a dime.
To access this feature, sign in to Copilot with your Microsoft account. You'll then see a Think Deeper button next to the text box that you can click to activate the model when answering a prompt.
