The Ministry of Digital Affairs has completed one of the key stages of the digital reform of notaries — the modernization of the Unified Register of Powers of Attorney. This should simplify the work of notaries and prepare the service for integration with «Diya».
According to the Ministry of Digital Affairs, the updated system has received a new interface and a number of technical improvements. Previously, the register had an outdated design and inefficient work logic: notaries spent additional time duplicating the same data in different fields, and complex navigation increased the risk of errors.
The interface is now intuitive: functions are grouped by purpose, and repetitive information is automatically pulled up by the system. This reduces the time spent on paperwork and minimizes the likelihood of technical or human errors.
In the future, the updated registry will become the basis for a new feature for verifying powers of attorney through «Diya». Each document will have a QR code that can be scanned to confirm its validity online. This will simplify the process for both citizens and government agencies verifying documents.
The Unified Register of Powers of Attorney is a state database that records all notarized powers of attorney in Ukraine. Its maintenance is provided by the Ministry of Justice, and digitalization is taking place within the framework of a comprehensive reform of the notary public, which is being implemented by the Ministry of Digital Affairs together with other bodies. The reform involves simplifying citizens' access to notarial services, reducing paper procedures, and introducing new online services.
