Ukraine launches coordination headquarters to ensure smooth operation of communication networks. It will be headed by Mykhailo Fedorov
The Cabinet of Ministers has created a communications coordination headquarters, which will operate as a single center that will unite the efforts of central and local authorities, communications operators, and other state bodies.
The Cabinet of Ministers has created a communications coordination headquarters, which will operate as a single center that will unite the efforts of central and local authorities, communications operators, and other state bodies.
The headquarters' main task is to warn and respond to risks so that networks can operate even during long power outages. To this end, clear rules of interaction between telecommunications operators and authorities will be created.
The headquarters will also analyze the situation and submit recommendations directly to the Cabinet of Ministers.
Who is on the staff?
The headquarters included representatives of mobile operators - Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine and lifecell, the Deputy Minister of Energy and the Head of the National Energy Regulatory Commission (NERC), as well as representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police, the State Emergency Service and the State Emergency Service.
The heads of the OVA and the chairman of the National Communications Commission (NCEC) are also involved in the work.
"Due to the war, the number of calls is increasing, so the Government is creating a Communications Coordination Headquarters. Our goal is to synchronize the state, energy, military, and mobile operators to ensure uninterrupted communications for every Ukrainian under any circumstances," noted First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, who will head the headquarters.
