A public organization called «IT Veteran» has been opened in Ukraine, which will help veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war find employment in the IT sector, and will also cooperate with IT companies on this issue.
This was announced on his LinkedIn page by the organization’s founder, Oleg Krisenko, who is also a war veteran himself.
Meanwhile, the organization’s website states that «IT-veteran» is a public initiative created to support veterans and military personnel of Ukraine who, after their service, are considering a transition to civilian work in IT.
«We work with veterans, helping them navigate a new field, prepare for their first job, and make the transition without unnecessary pressure, illusions, and inflated expectations. We also collaborate with IT companies — we advise on communication with veterans, hiring, and adaptation processes to reduce barriers and misunderstandings on both sides,» the non-profit organization explains.
Currently, the NGO is inviting IT companies that are already working with veterans or are just considering this step to dialogue and partnership.
Earlier, the Minister of Veterans Affairs spoke about the launch of a separate portal for veterans and the digitalization of a number of services. She reported on the opportunities that defenders will receive.
Last year, dev.ua told the story of a veteran who recovered from a serious injury thanks to his dream of becoming an IT professional.
