This week, renowned Kharkiv-based audiophile technology developer Verum Audio launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for its new high-end closed-back dynamic headphones, the Verum Motus, which combine classic acoustic craftsmanship with intelligent digital technology.
Initially, the project was developed to help Ukrainian military and civilians compensate for hearing loss caused by combat. However, the development later grew into a full-fledged premium audio system for the general public with unprecedented sound customization capabilities.
The Kickstarter campaign, launched on September 15, has raised $29,359 from 134 backers, surpassing the $28,721 needed. There is still almost a month (27 days) left to fundraise.
Main technological features of Verum Motus
The audio system is based on a massive 60mm dynamic driver. This enlarged radiator is able to move larger volumes of air with less load, which provides deep and physically tangible bass, a wide and immersive soundstage, as well as high sound detail without any distortion.
The device completely eliminates the need for complex external audio equipment. The entire signal chain, including a dual DAC and a powerful amplifier, is integrated directly into the headphones and optimized to the characteristics of a specific radiator.
Thanks to the built-in digital signal processor (DSP), users have access to a full 10-band parametric equalizer. It allows for precise tuning of the sound profile — from completely studio-neutral to individual, capable of compensating even for age-related hearing changes or the effects of injuries. This system is complemented by a cloud platform where you can save your own presets, download settings from professionals and share audio profiles with the community.
Structurally, the headphones are made of premium materials: they have ear cushions and headband elements made of genuine sheepskin, a durable adjustable stainless steel frame, and are also equipped with a removable headset microphone.
