The latest legislative changes in Poland will not lead to the shutdown of Starlink satellite internet for Ukraine.
This was announced by the head of the Office of the President of Poland, Zbigniew Bohutski, on the social network X, commenting on the veto of the country’s President Karol Nawrocki on the law on assistance to Ukrainian refugees.
«This decision does not lead to the shutdown of the Starlink Internet in Ukraine, since the costs for this are financed based on the provisions of the current law, and the bill submitted to the Sejm by the President of the Republic of Poland maintains this status quo. All that is needed is for this presidential initiative to be quickly considered in the Polish Parliament in September,» Zbigniew Bogutski noted.
He also added that his country is responsible for supporting the storage of Ukrainian government data «in a secure location.»
Against this background, Bogutsky also criticized other politicians, noting that they only create unnecessary informational drives for Russian propaganda.
Recall that earlier, Polish President Karol Nawrocki vetoed the law on social assistance for unemployed Ukrainians, and Polish Minister of Digitalization Krzysztof Gawkowski reported that this decision effectively disables Starlink in Ukraine.
Back in 2004, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said that Starlink modules for Ukraine were being financed by Poland, and that billionaire and company owner Elon Musk or the company itself were not involved in this process.
