The free dating service Viber Dating has officially become available in Ukraine. How to use it

«Ukrainians have been using Viber for dating long before we offered a dedicated service for this. Now we are taking this experience to a new level. We offer a single app for dating and communication, but Viber Dating has a separate interface, a profile separated from the main account, and a hidden phone number so that personal life remains personal», — says Ilya Boshnyakov, regional director of Rakuten Viber in Ukraine.
Ukrainians will be able to look for a couple or just new friends on Viber Dating, and then continue communicating in the Viber messenger.
When it comes to online dating, many people are concerned about the number of bots, fake profiles, and scammers. This problem is also relevant for Ukrainians: 45% of respondents consider false information in profiles to be a key drawback of dating apps. Another 26% note fraud as the main problem.*
With Viber Dating, Ukrainians can be more confident in their safety when dating online. User privacy is a priority for Rakuten Viber, and Viber Dating is equally focused on security. In particular, it is provided by:
- Profile Verification: Only verified Viber users can create a profile on Viber Dating. Every Viber Dating user is a real person registered with a phone number.
- Hidden phone number: The user’s phone number is not visible on the dating profile. No personal information will be shared when searching for new dates unless the user chooses to share it.
- Moderation: The service combines automatic and manual moderation to ensure a safe user experience.
- Separate chats: Your Viber Dating profile is separate from your main Viber account and is located in a separate tab from the messenger. None of your main contacts will know that you are using the dating service/
Registration for Viber Dating is free. Create a profile in a special tab in the Rakuten Viber app, add a photo and share a brief description of yourself. Viber Dating will then select potential matches. You can swipe right or left on the suggested profiles depending on whether you are interested in dating. If the interest is mutual, a match is created. This unlocks the ability to correspond with this user in Viber Dating.
