A young GameDev studio from Kyiv, Fantasy Frontier Studios, has launched a game on Kickstarter called Arcane Words Estate, where you can play word puzzles and, for the reward you receive, create your dream house with bookshelves of your favorite books.
Fantasy Frontier Studios was founded in the spring of 2024 by experienced Unity Developer Oles Dibrivny. Arcane Words Estate is the second project of the 9-person team. The first game was Arcane Words, which reached 60,000 downloads in less than two months.
The game will be available on Android, iOS, PC (and Mac).
It features six unique puzzle games. Each game has its own set of clues, achievements, and progress rewards, carefully designed to suit the style of play.
By completing achievements, you not only earn rewards, but also receive exclusive items to build your house. It starts with one room, but more will be added as you progress.
In this way, users create their own literary space. The third and final option for customizing a room is a bookshelf with books they have read and those they want to read.
There are also PvP modes for competitive fun and leaderboards to show off your skills in each mode
The goal of raising $5,000 was reached in 15 days. But there are still several more weeks of fundraising ahead.
Funds are needed to improve the English version.
"This is the amount we need to overcome one of the biggest problems in Arcane Words Estate — the same problem that lowered the rating of the English version of Arcane Words to 1.9 on Google Play: Google Play link — English version," the team noted.
Instead, the Ukrainian version has a rating of 4.7 on Google Play, and the iOS version, which is advertised only in Ukraine, has an even better rating of 4.8, the startup added.
Funds are also needed for Oxford Dictionaries (Oxford API) services to compile the dictionary.
“Your support will also allow us to hire professional writers and localizers to ensure a seamless gaming experience, whether you’re progressing through levels, unlocking achievements, or reading descriptions of images and items. By overcoming this hurdle, our team can fully focus on creating the best gaming experience for you — exactly as outlined in our timeline,” the team explained.
