"Beginners learn to assemble something 'on their knees' and consider it the norm." An experienced engineer explained the key dangers of vibecoding and why experience, structure, and code purity are already becoming currency
Senior Fullstack Product Engineer Denys Klymenko explained how dangerous the growing role of vibe coding is for IT professionals and products.
Senior Fullstack Product Engineer Denys Klymenko explained how dangerous the growing role of vibe coding is for IT professionals and products.
«Lately, I’ve been seeing more and more stories like this about 'vibe refactoring'. Developers are starting to make money by fixing code created by «vibe coders.» That is, people who «sketch out» projects on enthusiasm, without architecture, without tests, without the thought that someone will support this code later. «And do you know who this «someone» is? That’s right — you and I,» he wrote on LinkedIn.
Based on his observations, the IT expert made the following conclusions.
First, a prototype doesn’t make a product. Vibe coding can be a quick way to show an idea, but when such code reaches production, it falls apart at the first real load.
Secondly, the role of «code cleaners» is growing. There are even entire services where specialists earn money by «cleaning up after the developers.» And it’s not just bug fixing — often the foundation has to be rewritten.
Third, a dangerous habit appears — «it will work out anyway.» Newbies learn to put something together «on their knees» and consider it the norm. And then they wonder why the system breaks down, or why employers are not looking for «creative vibe coders» but people who know how to write systematically.
Fourth, experience, structure, and code purity become currency. Because anyone can «do it quickly,» but only a few can «make it work in a year.»
«The world is already full of prototypes that are 'barely breathing.' Therefore, the most valuable thing today is the ability to build not on a vibe, but on a solid foundation. And, to be honest, this is what distinguishes a real engineer today: not the one who 'shot', but the one whose solutions live and grow without him,» Denis summarizes.
«Vibe coding is history.» Vibe coders are being replaced by swarms of AI agents. What is Agentic swarm coding and is it really a new weapon for big companies?
