«After so many years of war, the tricolor causes anger. I saw the flag and reacted quickly, without thinking. I did it as a person who is tired of everything related to Russia. My attitude towards this flag has not changed. My attitude towards the act is the same», wrote Gorokhovsky.
He assured clients that their personal data is safe and that this is a priority for Monobank. According to Oleg Gorokhovsky, Russian hackers attacked Monobank the most, but the financial institution’s cyber specialists managed to prevent information leaks.
«Conclusions have been made. In the event of similar situations, information will be transmitted exclusively to law enforcement agencies. I apologize to anyone who was disappointed. I will filter my thoughts better and not forget about my responsibility», the co-owner of monobank promised.
Earlier, monobank co-owner Oleg Gorohovsky told Threads that one of the financial institution’s clients was conducting video verification in the banking application against the background of the Russian flag. According to him, this was the reason for blocking her accounts. He added an unblurred photo of the girl to his post.
Later, military and public activist Sergei Gnezdilov wrote that he managed to contact the girl and find out that she was allegedly taking a photo against the background of the Slovenian flag, not the Russian one.
After that, it became known that the National Bank seeks to obtain an explanation from monobank regarding «the dissemination of information that could have been obtained during the identification or verification procedures of a client».
