Among the TOP-10 IT companies by revenue, only one has physical production — Ajax Systems. The company's production is localized in Ukraine, and this, in the current situation, is an advantage.
“Ukraine has some of the lowest tariffs,” the company’s CMO, Valentyn Hrytsenko, explains to Forbes Ukraine. Compared to competitors from Asia and the EU, this opens up the opportunity to enter the American market more actively. The company is already preparing to raise prices by 10%, in proportion to the tariffs.
Esper Bionics, a Ukrainian startup that sells bionic prosthetics in the U.S., is considering the same strategy. Their products cost $22,000 and are covered by health insurance. If tariffs increase, the price for the market will also go up, but within 10%. “Maybe it will even play into our hands if our EU competitors get higher tariffs,” said Dmytro Hanush, CMO of Esper Bionics.
But Deus Robotics, which no longer manufactures robots but only supplies software, depends on partner countries. “Everything will depend on where the robot comes from,” says co-founder Antonina Yermeychuk. According to her, tariffs could push partners to revise prices — not to the benefit of customers.
Donald Trump's tariff policy has been heating up the world for the second week. And while some countries have had some tariffs reduced through negotiations, a real trade war has begun with China. The White House announced that an additional 49% tariff will be imposed on China, and the Chinese government has imposed additional tariffs on goods from the United States of up to 84%.
Previously, we reported on the first problems of global tech giants that arose as a result of the introduction of American tariffs, even penguins were affected.
The US is buying up Apple equipment en masse, fearing its price will rise due to Trump's tariffs. Meanwhile, the White House is talking about moving iPhone production from China to the US
