xAI describes Grok Build as “a powerful new coding agent and command line interface (CLI) for professional software development and complex programming tasks.” The company plans to use early user feedback to improve the product. SuperGrok Heavy users can download the beta from the xAI website and log in to their account to access it, Engadget reports .
As Bloomberg notes, xAI is trying to catch up with its competitors, including Anthropic and OpenAI. Elon Musk, the company’s founder and CEO, has previously admitted that they are lagging behind their rivals in terms of programming. A few months ago, Musk said that he was rebuilding xAI “from the ground up” after a number of co-founders left the company. According to available information, one of the top managers urged the team to focus on making Grok equal to Claude in terms of efficiency in performing various tasks.
Recall that in February, SpaceX acquired xAI. Earlier this month, Musk renamed the combined structure SpaceXAI. After the merger , SpaceXAI began to lose its best specialists - more than 50 researchers and engineers left it.
