According to the specialized publication «Detector Media», the reason for this step is «a different vision of the future strategy from the holding’s management.»
In particular, this is how Anastasia Zazulyak herself explained her dismissal.
«Due to a different vision of the process with the holding’s management and a different vision of the strategy of the future project, my team of deputies and I decided to end cooperation with the 24 Channel website. However, we believe that the site will have good management ahead and new innovative solutions will bring really cool results,» she noted.
At the same time, according to a source from «Detector Media», this step by the site’s editors may be related to the management’s intention to reduce the number of journalists and launch a news feed based on artificial intelligence solutions.
Anastasia Zazulyak responded that as of now, no people have been laid off, but she is not aware of further decisions by management.
At the same time, she confirmed that AI tools are indeed «actively being implemented for the editorial team in some news creation processes.»
According to Anastasia Zazulyak, they, together with their deputies, have actively implemented AI tools to facilitate the work of the editorial staff, but still, AI cannot fully replace a person.
«AI is an important factor in today’s realities, and it is absolutely normal to implement tools, but the editorial office does not end there. Despite this, the value of people will always be higher than any machines, live texts will always have an advantage. And any tools need time for their high-quality implementation,» says Zazulyak.
One of Zazulyak’s deputies, Emal Nabi, wrote on his Facebook page that he would not believe in a story where «people can only be turned into buttons for AI and service for chatbots.»
Meanwhile, Roman Andreyko, CEO of TRK «Lux», commented on this topic and stated that he would not disclose the reasons for the dismissal out of respect for the team. At the same time, he denied that this decision was directly related only to the introduction of artificial intelligence into the work of the editorial office.
«AI has been working in our editorial office for a long time. And firing someone because of AI would sound too scandalous. Maybe even profitable, because it would immediately gain a lot of publicity. But no, that’s not the case,» assured the CEO of TRK «Lux».
