This was reported on their social networks by MPs Maria Mezentseva and Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
According to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the Servant of the People faction formally held a meeting and submitted a list of ministers for appointment to Koretsky’s new government. However, the vote for the head of the defense ministry is currently blocked. MP Maria Mezentseva noted that Klymenko, whose candidacy was being considered for this position, allegedly refused the appointment. Zheleznyak added that there simply is not enough votes in the hall to make this decision.
People’s Deputy Yaroslav Yurchyshyn confirmed in a comment to the media outlet «GRUNT» that as of 1:00 p.m. there are indeed no votes for the appointment of Klymenko as Minister of Defense. At the same time, according to him, the leadership of the «Servant of the People» faction is currently actively seeking the necessary support in the session hall.
According to the procedure, the parliament plans to first vote on the general list of ministers of the new Cabinet, excluding the presidential quotas — the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense. After that, approximately at 4:00 p.m., another faction meeting will be held, where they will separately discuss the candidacy for the position of head of the defense department.
«The president has not yet chosen Syrsky’s side. I am sure that the president hears the Ukrainian people, the situation will be corrected,» Mykhailo Fedorov said at his briefing for journalists .
