Sports enthusiasts from Aitutaki have developed an app to help find a sports group in their city. How Sportouch can help you find a company to play volleyball with on the weekend
Software Engineer Dmytro Ivashchuk started learning React Native a year ago and decided to combine business with pleasure: gain practical experience by developing an application for searching for sports events. The Sportouch application is easy to use — that was the main goal of development: you open it, see a map with nearby events, join a game or create your own team.

The Sportouch application is easy to use — that was the main goal of development: you open it, see a map with nearby events, join a game or create your own team.
"My friend (and part-time colleague) and I love and play sports, but we often encounter difficulties: everything is chaotic, random, and inconvenient - this is especially acute when you just want to go out on the field tonight. In addition, events are scattered across Telegram chats, Instagram stories, or simply get lost among dozens, if not hundreds, of banners and posters," said Dmytro Ivashchuk in a blog on DOU.
So, our friends from AIT decided to create a simple mobile application that allows you to quickly find nearby sporting events and a company to play with.
Development began in September 2024. The product was worked on by a small team. The release took place in May 2025.
During this time, Sportouch has over 100 users and 30 sports. 5–10 events are organized every week. In addition, the application is not limited to cities in Ukraine, it can work globally.

Application functionality
The user downloads the application.
Authorized via OTP or Google/Apple ID.
Specify your city or give the application access to geolocation.
Sees events nearby.
You can join or create your own event.
Receives a push reminder a few hours before the start.
Payment is only outside the application (by agreement between participants and the organizer).
Future plans
The Sportouch team plans to start monetizing the application through the introduction of local currency, paid promotion, and subscriptions without advertising. They also plan to cooperate with local sports clubs, volunteers, and ambassadors. As for new features, a dark theme and achievements will appear.
