“We are not fighting TikTok, we are using its mechanics.” In Ukraine, an educational application Vyvchay Prosto has been developed, where learning turns into an interesting series
Devops Engineer Yehor Fedorov decided to bring back children’s love of knowledge by developing the application Vyvchay Prosto, in which school subjects are told in the format of short videos. The goal is to make learning interesting and children can get good grades without stress. This approach has already resonated with the target audience — students and parents. Almost 2,000 followers on Instagram are already waiting for the release of the application, which will take place this week.

Almost 2,000 followers on Instagram are already waiting for the release of the application, which will take place this week.
The idea for creating the application came from the personal experience of Yehor Fedorov, founder and CEO of Vyvchay Prosto. He realized that he couldn’t learn when he was learning the profession of Devops Engineer. Then, over time, he noticed that others had similar problems.
In his opinion, this is related to school, where students are not taught to understand the material — instead, they memorize it.

School reflects more interest in learning than it instills it. I always wanted to solve this, but all the pieces came together in early July of this year. I came to understand what format can help children digest school more easily, so that they can get good grades without being overwhelmed, and at the same time have a blast learning.
Everything is as much connected to childhood as possible. If children can learn while having fun, they will project this onto their adult lives — in the future they will be able to learn anything easily.
On July 2, the team began development. They first created an alpha version to test the hypothesis. At the end of the same month, they launched targeted advertising on the prototype.
«We got great signals and implemented Problem-Solution Fit. We realized that it really resonated with children, and this pain is related to school, not only for me, but for most of them.»
After that, the team began developing a beta version of the application.
How Vyvchay Prosto can help students learn
The application has two forms of learning:
a Discord series that includes one or two 2-minute videos explaining a specific paragraph from school textbooks;
tests that help you consolidate all your knowledge after reviewing and prepare for the test.

«We need to understand that children today have clip thinking. They no longer feel like reading boring books, it’s a big cognitive load for them. We need to change the format of learning,» explains Fedorov.
The videos are based on school textbooks for the most difficult subjects, such as mathematics, biology, history, physics, etc.
In each video, which looks like a Discord chat, the main characters are a teacher and students. Each student is a separate archetype that is inherent in children at school.
So the child user of the application simply observes this chat from the side and understands the same topic from different angles, through different examples and associations.
You can see what the videos look like using the example of a physics paragraph for grade 9 on the topic «Magnetic Phenomena.»
At launch, videos will be available for grades 6, 9, and 11. Each grade has its own characters.
«Our task is to make it so that a child can understand any paragraph in 10 minutes, prepare for a test in 15 minutes. Then he will have the opportunity to walk and spend time with friends, and his parents will have the opportunity to relax after work.»
About the team
A team is working on creating the Vyvchay Prosto application in three areas: product, marketing, and development.
The application is created by 10 developers: 2 Devops, 2 QA, 1 Frontend, 1 Mobile Developer, 2 Backend, Solution Architect and Tech Lead, CTO. Most of them work full-time, but some are involved as freelancers.
Marketing is handled by the CMO, whose name Fedorov does not disclose, only noting that this is a well-known Ukrainian founder who has his own marketing team.

«And the most important thing is the product team. These are the people who create content. And the content is created by our children. Because it is children who know better than anyone how they would like to see and change the same boring paragraphs.»
Investment and monetization
The startup has already attracted angel investments of $9,000.
«This funding was more than enough for us to develop the app and implement our marketing strategy,» says the founder.
The application has a free version — the basic level, which allows you to understand the topic by 8-9 forms.
There is also a paid version for $6 per month, which unlocks additional content and all tests, namely the «pro» and «hardcore» levels for comprehension of 11-12 forms.
«Our plan is for every child in Ukraine to have this application. So that they can study in a new format for free or for a symbolic fee. So that children and their parents don’t fight at home over grades. This will have a positive impact on their entire future life,» Fedorov notes.
What are the plans?
The first step after the release is to add grades 7, 8, and 10 by the start of the second quarter.
Next, they will integrate artificial intelligence. However, details about this step are not yet disclosed, as research is currently underway on how best to implement it.
In addition, the plans include adding social mechanics so that children can learn together, challenge each other, take speed tests, etc. to turn learning into a game, but without losing the essence.
«Our plan is not just to add more subjects, our goal is to completely change the way children interact with school. We want the phrase 'I hate school' to simply disappear in 5 years, so that children graduate with a love for learning,» says Yehor Fedorov.
The Vyvchay Prosto app will be available soon on the Apple Store and Google Play. The team will announce the release on their Instagram.
