Users are reporting issues from all over the world, with a large spike in reports occurring at 2 p.m.
Those who are able to access the site often receive an «Internal Server Error.» You may also see a 502 Bad Gateway and 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable error. Even paid users are unable to contact the service via this URL.
When trying to access the chat.openai.com website, we also saw 502 Bad Gateway.
OpenAI reports that at 13:57 Kyiv time, the company observed an increased level of errors in the API and began investigating. Almost 30 minutes later, they wrote that they had discovered an error, but did not say what exactly.
«A fix has been implemented and we are monitoring the results. Between 3:33 and 4:23 AM Pacific Time, customers experienced an increased number of errors in ChatGPT and API,» the two extreme messages, published at 2:43 PM, said.
As a reminder, on December 26, another large-scale outage occurred in ChatGPT and Sora. At 20:40 Kyiv time, problems began in ChatGPT, Sora, and some APIs. According to OpenAI, the problem was hidden on the side of their provider.

ChatGPT is back up and running in Ukraine. Users around the world are reporting that they too can communicate with the chatbot. But OpenAI has yet to provide an explanation for the outage.
Downdetector shows that there are almost no reports of a crash, while at 2:00 PM there were over 4,000, at 6:00 PM there were only 46. OpenAI also changed the status from «partial crash» to «working».
The chatbot is in no hurry to reveal its secrets. When asked what happened today and why it wasn’t working, its answer was very superficial, which we expected, of course.
ChatGPT also declined to answer questions about the duration of the outage and when exactly it started working.
UPD. Meanwhile, Russian hackers from the 22s group, together with PalachPro, stated on the Russian Telegram channel Mash that they had crashed Neuronka because the Ukrainian Armed Forces were using it to process satellite photos. The service allegedly helped them search for traces of Russian troops.
