President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is proposing his draft law on the anti-corruption agencies NABU and SAPO. It will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada today.
«I have just approved the text of the draft law, which guarantees the real strengthening of the law and order system in Ukraine, the independence of anti-corruption bodies, as well as reliable protection of the law and order system from any Russian influence or interference. The text is balanced. The most important thing is real tools, no Russian connections, and the independence of the NABU and the SAPO,» the president said .
Let us remind you that today in the Verkhovna Rada, 48 deputiesregistered their draft law on the independence of the NABU and the SAPO.
«The law on the restoration of the independence of the NABU and the SAPO was signed by 48 deputies from different factions. We are registering. You can vote tomorrow. Turbo mode, turbo mode. Your move, Mr. President,» wrote People’s Deputy Yaroslav Yurchyshyn.
It seems that the president made this move by noting: «It is important that we maintain unity. It is important that we maintain independence. It is important that we respect the position of all Ukrainians and are grateful to everyone who is with Ukraine.»
As for the position of Ukrainians, they expressed it during the protests that began on July 22, the day Law No. 12414 was adopted, and continued the next day.
