Russian media reports that Russia wants to create a full-fledged orbital constellation for broadband Internet to ensure stable communication and access to data in regions where terrestrial telecommunications infrastructure is absent or poorly developed.
The project was called «Zorkiy.» According to Bakanov, the network’s satellites will also take pictures from space, based on which «digital maps are created, which are then used by drones to navigate.»
«This year there will be serial production of this equipment,» said the head of Roscosmos.
Earlier, UNITED24, citing materials from OSINT researchers, reported that the Russian military had attached a Starlink satellite terminal and a camera to a horse, probably for communication or reconnaissance.
The published videos and photos show Russian soldiers and horses with makeshift frames to which flat satellite terminals are attached. It is noted that such equipment is most likely used not as a combat platform, but for communication or assessment of the situation on the ground.
