Despite significant damage to the terminal, no people were injured, and most of the shipments were saved, the company’s CEO Igor Smilyansky reported on his social media.
Thanks to the security measures taken in advance, all the personnel of the sorting center remained unharmed. The Ukrposhta team began eliminating the consequences of the shelling and resuming work at four in the morning. The surviving parcels are planned to be delivered to Kharkiv branches today.
«We will definitely compensate those customers whose parcels, unfortunately, were destroyed for their value,» emphasized Igor Smilyansky.
Currently, to minimize delivery delays, the flow of vehicles has been redirected to backup logistics sites. The company is doing everything possible to ensure that customers receive their shipments promptly.
This is not the first case of a targeted attack on the civilian postal infrastructure of the Kharkiv region. In particular, on June 5, the Russians attacked a mobile office of Ukrposhta in the region, as a result of which employees received concussions and special transport suffered serious damage.
